In the initial rounds of the David English Cup - in which 2025's Under 12 county winners compete for national glory - there were wins in the South & West for Sir Thomas Rich's and Blundell's (147/8) who edged past rivals Millfield (145) by 2 wickets. In the Midlands, state schools Bishop Stopford, King's Grantham and Haberdashers' Adams all secured wins over independent schools, while Bromsgrove edged past local rivals Solihull thanks to a Super-Over. In the North, the tables were turned with both state schools going out to the big guns of Repton and RGS Newcastle. In the South East, Epsom eased to victory in a local derby against Alleyn's while Ardingly edged a close game against Judd while over in East Anglia, Gosfield saw off Suffolk Champions Old Buckenham Hall.
