English Schools Cricket Association - Cricket vibes all day Every day

Our History

ESCA was set up in 1948 to promote youth cricket in England. Through our national network of County Schools Cricket Association, ESCA was for many years responsible for organising all county junior representative cricket as well as the selection of regional and national teams. ESCA organised the first Under U15 World Cups involving teams from 10 countries in 1993 and 1996. Most of these responsibilities were handed on to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after its inception in 1997. Through our friendship with David English (1946-2022), ESCA was instrumental in setting up and operating the Bunbury Festival, a regional Under 15 cricket festival which helped shape the careers of over 1000 first class crickets and 125 international players including Michael Vaughan, Andrew Flintoff and Sir Alastair Cook.
